Removing Tile

We started a new decorative concrete project this week at Pioneer Forge in Pioneer, Ohio.  This will probably be a three-phase project with some larger areas to be completed during Forth Of July shutdown, but now in the first phase, we are working on one of their restroom areas, a first aid room and two office rooms.

Like many of our recent projects, we had to first start with removing tile with an air compression tile-removal tool.  Taking off the tile wasn’t too hard (just the typical problems of a few stubborn tiles) but what really gave us fits was removing the base moldings from around the base of the cinder block walls – luckily, we had another air tool to help remove it.

With all the old tiles off and concrete surface ground with our diamond grinding wheels,  we are ready for some industrial-strength epoxy.
