The ugly floor at Sauder Manufacturing in Stryker got a little bit less ugly on Thursday after we rolled-out another coat of epoxy and threw a box-load of vinyl chips into the wet surface. The blend of brown, dark brown, light brown and white chips completely covered the concrete below and made a huge improvement in the look of the two restrooms.
The next step is to clean-up all the loose chips that are not stuck to the floor and embed the top layer with a durable top-coat that will finish it off. (At this point, the employees in charge of contracting us for this “Concrete Makeover” were kicking themselves for not having us do the attached hallway and two nearby office rooms :))
Not only will the surface in these restrooms resemble an elegant granite floor but it will be a tough and durable floor that will be easy to clean.
We were not able to finish the project on Friday (the plant was closed for Good Friday) – it will be complete this Monday. Final project pictures coming soon . . .
